Why Print Your Family Photos? | Morgantown, WV Family Photographer
You Took the Photos… Now What? Why Printing Your Family Photos Matters

You finally did it! You got everyone dressed. You convinced the kids to cooperate. You found a time that worked around everyone's schedules. You showed up for your family photography session, laughed, loved on each other, and made some memories along the way. And then… you received your gallery.
Maybe you downloaded your favorite images right away. Maybe you saved them to your phone. Maybe you shared a few on Facebook and Instagram...over time, the gallery got buried in your inbox, the images are still sitting on your computer, nd every once in a while, you scroll past them and think, I really need to do something with those. (Oh hey, that's me!)
I get it. Life is busy. So here's the thing I want my families to know:
Your photographs were never meant to live only on a screen.

Your family photos deserve to be seen.
There is something different about walking past a photograph hanging on your wall every single day. You don't have to open your phone. You don't have to search through thousands of camera roll images. You don't have to remember which hard drive you saved them on. You simply walk past the memories, remembering your babies, exactly as they were in that season of life. The little hands that won't stay little. The smile your teenager is slowly outgrowing. The dog who was part of the family through all of it. The way your children looked at you before they became too cool to give you quite as many hugs...Those ordinary moments become extraordinary when you get to see them every day.
Digital files are wonderful—but they're not the whole story.
I absolutely believe in having digital images. They're easy to share with grandparents, post on social media, send to family members, and keep backed up for safekeeping.
But a digital file is just the beginning. A photograph becomes something completely different when you print it: A framed family portrait becomes part of your home. An album becomes a tangible record of your family's story. A matted print can sit beautifully on a shelf or be framed when you're ready. And when your children are grown, those photographs become something they can actually hold in their hands.
That's what I mean when I talk about heirloom photography. I'm not just talking about creating beautiful images. I'm talking about creating something that lasts.

You don't have to print everything.
This is one of my favorite things to tell my clients! You don't need to print 75 photographs from your session. You don't even need to print 25. Sometimes there are just a handful of images that make you stop and think, Oh, that's the one.
Maybe it's the photograph of everyone laughing. Maybe it's the quiet image of your child resting their head on your shoulder. Maybe it's the picture of your entire family together—including the dog who absolutely refused to look at the camera! Those are the photographs that deserve a place in your home. The goal isn't to fill every wall...The goal is to choose the images that tell your story.
So… where should you actually put them?
This is where I love helping my clients, because choosing your favorite photograph is only part of the process. You also have to figure out what size makes sense, where it should go, and whether it belongs in a frame, an album, or somewhere else. A large family portrait can make a beautiful statement above a fireplace or in a living room. A collection of smaller photographs can tell a story along a staircase or hallway. An album can hold all those little moments that don't necessarily need to take up wall space but are too meaningful to leave on a computer. And sometimes, a simple matted print is exactly what a space needs. There isn't one right answer! Your photographs should fit your home, your family, and the way you want to remember this season of your life.

This is why I offer a full-service photography experience.
One of the things that makes my approach to photography different is that I don't want my job to end when I deliver your digital gallery. I want to help you figure out what happens next. From planning your session and helping with wardrobe and location decisions to designing artwork for your home, my goal is to make the entire photography experience feel easy. I know you don't necessarily have time to figure out all of this yourself (I certainly don't!) and you shouldn't have to spend hours researching print sizes, comparing frames, wondering what will look good above your couch, or trying to decide whether an album is worth it.
That's what I'm here for. I want you to walk away with photographs you love and something tangible that allows you to enjoy those photographs for years to come.
Ready to create photographs you'll actually enjoy in your home?
Whether you're planning a family photography session, senior portraits, or a milestone you'd love to remember forever, I'd love to help you create photographs that become part of your family's story.
